Wildfires risk solutions for Spain

SALUS is a public–private collaboration project that develops nextgeneration technological solutions to detect, monitor and predict wildfire behaviour in Spain. It integrates advanced science, highperformance computing and realtime data to build an Early Warning System capable of identifying ignitions, tracking fire spread and generating shortterm forecasts of wildfire evolution.
Led by Mitiga Solutions together with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) nd Helipistas, the project delivers major innovations including the PYRA highresolution wildfire simulator, citizenbased and aerial detection tools, new multisensor datacapture systems and an interactive visualisation platform showing expected fire progression and exposed infrastructure. SALUS also develops methodologies for wildfirerelated risk transfer, providing indices and modelling frameworks that enable parametric insurance solutions for forest assets. Together, these components lay the foundation for a more resilient, datadriven approach to wildfire risk management in a changing climate.
