The ARTEMIS project “AleRt and impact-forecast standards for Emergency Management” aims to harmonise alerting and impactforecasting systems across Europe, addressing the growing fragmentation in emergency management. By integrating Earth Observation data, AIdriven analytics and realtime information sharing, the project enhances situational awareness and supports faster, more coordinated responses to natural hazards.

Through pilots on droughts, floods, wildfires, landslides and earthquakes, ARTEMIS develops impactbased methodologies, shared standards and interoperable tools that help authorities better assess risk, anticipate impacts and communicate early warnings. By bringing together civilprotection agencies, researchers and technology providers, the project establishes a common European framework for emergency management, validated through crossborder exercises and operational use cases. ARTEMIS ultimately aims to strengthen Europe’s preparedness and resilience, supporting both decisionmakers and citizens with trusted, consistent and actionable risk information.

This project has received funding from the Horizon Europe Framework Programme (2021-2027) under the grant agreement No 101225852.
